AMEX Project Overview
As a sponsor of the US Open for 20+ years, American Express looked to create game-changing experiences for prospects and Card Members alike.
The vision for 2014 was to create activations in the Card Member club to encourage loyalty. One pain point of Card Members coming out of 2013 was too few charging options for their phones. To eliminate this complaint, Chexology was brought in as the leader in check-in and rental technology and tasked with the following:
Provide 600+ American Express branded phone charging cases for a variety of phones.
Deliver the solution and staff to keep the phone charging cases continuously charged for the rental.
Seamlessly operate throughout check-in/check-out functions.
Incorporate American Express branding in the software interface.
Promote the American Express brand through superior customer service for 15 days.
Execution
Chexology [then CoatChex] operated the most efficient and first-to-market phone charging case rental system. This provided American Express Card Members with exclusive access to charge their phones while still being able to engage in American Express activations.
These results, coupled with premium service left many Card Members associating the brand with high-quality, innovative services.
